Meet the Hardware

This build started off with a 2005 workstation case we salvaged from a trash container. For internal components, we turned to a friends' old computer and took the mainboard including CPU, RAM, and SSD. We also got our hands on a really efficient be quiet! power supply, a bunch of fans and an overqualified cooler. Our final parts list was:

The day we actually built the server, we learned that our shiny new power supply doesn't even fit, likely because some parts of the case were missing. Armed with an overly detailed sketch of the back of our case, we went to our local hardware store, managed to lock ourselves out of our dorm in the process, made it back inside, and got crafty.

And just like that, t4t.gratis was born. The last step was, of course, to add the T4T lettering we brought from the hardware store.
